The new operating theater, the first of its kind in Moldova, is provided with state-of-the-art technology to reduce operating time and minimize hospital stay after surgery. The modern equipment ensures that complicated procedures can be performed faster than before with minimally invasive interventions.

Grigore Zapuhlîh, Director of the Institute of Neurology and Neurosurgery: “We want to treat patients so that they stay less time in the hospital. The true meaning of mini-invasive surgery is that the patient can go home the next day. “

The devices in the operating room are attached to the ceiling, while cabling and ventilation ducts are placed in the attic to free workspace and ensure a great working environment. The supply air is HEPA filtrated and released by gravity thru the innovative Opragon ventilation system. The system creates ultra-clean air in whole operating room, for a flexible and comfortable workspace.

Ion Preguza, Head of Operation: “We practically don’t have any cables, we don’t have exhaust fumes, etc. everything goes into the attic. It’s a system equipped with HEPA filters, which releases purified air into the room.”

The principal of the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu”, Emil Ceban, is very pleased with the new facilities, which will allow students to attend surgeries online: “It is a smart and modern room. The latest techniques are used here starting with the multifunctional table, then the lamps have built in the video cameras, and screens that allow the team to use the microscope to manage the tumor.”

Avidicare is proud to be a part of this project, where ultra-clean air, state-of-the-art equipment and a flexible working area are highly demanded. As with all infection sensitive surgery, neurosurgery requires ultra-clean air to avoid bacteria spreading to the wound during surgery. By using gravity as the engine there is less turbulence in the room and the risk of contaminated air whirling into the operating wound is reduced. Opragon is resilient and robust, pushing the air downwards, even with extended activity and movement during surgery. For the surgical staff to perform at its best, it is also important that the operating room is comfortable and that draught and noise from ventilation is held to a minimum. The newly opened operating theater has got the best conditions to ensure modern and safe healthcare!

We thank the State University of Medicine and Pharmacy “Nicolae Testemitanu”Department of Neurology “Diomid Gherman” for the confidence in the choice of Opragon and our partner Dutchmed Moldova for the well-executed installation.
